Solo Exhibition at Riverviews Artspace in Lynchburg, VA

“The purpose of my art is to uplift the mind and soul of the viewer through the beauty of the subject and the handling of the paint.”
— Kate Bradley McClure

Kate Bradley McClure is a full-time artist who paints still lifes, landscapes, and portraits in the realist tradition. Kate earned a degree in Fine Art from Auburn University with a concentration in Painting. She continued her studies in classical painting techniques at the Florence Academy of Art.

Her work can be found in numerous private collections throughout the country, as well as the permanent collections of Auburn University and the American Cancer Society.

Kate grew up in Memphis, TN. While her parents worked for the local newspaper, Kate took painting lessons at the Memphis College of Art. Her dream was to grow up to become a full-time artist, but when she graduated college she found it difficult to make a living from her art. Kate worked in an office for five years until she decided she’d had enough and set off for Florence to study the work of the old masters. When she returned to Memphis, she established her studio and began accepting portrait commissions. She now lives in Lynchburg, VA with her husband, a college professor, their dog Gryff, and cat Louise.
